Abstract	The mid-frequency alterned current (russian current) is used to increase muscle strenght and can be used for the treatment of rectus abdominal muscle diastasis (RAMD). It can be defined as separation of muscle bellies occurring during pregnancy and should be treated in the postpartum period. This study aims to search evidence available in the literature about the use of electrical muscle stimulation, through Russian Current on the treatment of abdominal diastasis. This is a lit- erature review. The online databases selected were Pubmed, Periodicos Capes, Schoolar Google and Trip Database and the subject descriptors used were: electric stimulation, electrical stimulation therapy, diastasis, abdominal muscles. Were included in the review 3 articles being selected only clinical studies that were related to the definition and treatment of abdominal diastasis, as well as electrical muscle stimulation. It conclude that there are few available evidences on the use of electrical muscle stimulation, through Russian Current in the treatment of abdominal dia- stasis which may prove its effectiveness.
