Abstract	The work is well structured and the theme is interesting. The methodology is adequate and the statistical treatment is correct. The statistical results could have been expressed graphically, thus facilitating the reading of the results. The text could also be improved with some photos. Figure 1 can not be read and presents basic technical errors (e.g. the highest altitudes have to have darker colors rather than light gray and white). In the bibliography some references of recent works are missing (e.g. Carvalho, I.). In the justification of the problem, the authors mix flash flooding (PANA, 2004, Martins et al, 2018) with floods (Silvia Monteiro). In order for the reader to understand the magnitude of the problem under study and to validate the results (only through their reading), the authors should better contextualize the problem by adding the description of the flash floods on the island with quantifiable spatial and temporal information
