Abstract	During the 1960s and ‘70s, Spain sent out emigrants and received remittances. Today, it is an important receiver of immigrants and issuer of remittances. In this article, after synthesizing these changes in migratory flows, we performed some theoretical considerations about remittances. Next, we analyzed the present situation of the payment of remittances from the Spanish economy, quantifying its volume and identifying the main nationalities that perform them. To finalize, we considered the importance for those nations of the remittances they receive from around the world.
