| Abstract | In this paper an analysis of the consumption profile and of the psychopathological comorbidity in 60 outpatient treatment-seeking cocaine addicts from «Proyecto Hombre de Navarra» (Project Mankind) is carried out. For the assessment of the patients, the DSM-IV-TR diagnosis criteria for cocaine dependence, the EuropASI, in order to assess the severity of the dependence, and the SCL-90-R, as measure of the associated symptoms, were used. Comparison with normative samples reflects that the cocaine addicts of the sample present more psychopathological symptoms than the normal population, but less than the psychiatric population. Lastly, implications of this study for further research and clinical practice are commented upon. |
