| Abstract | Abstract : Is Air Force information operations (IO) doctrine consistent with joint IO doctrine as required by policy directives? To answer this question, this research paper analyzes the consistency between Air Force Doctrine Document (AFDD) 2-5, Information Operations, and Joint Pub (JP) 3-13, Joint Doctrine for Information Operations, in three principal areas: 1. The components of information superiority (IS) and definitions of the key terms IS, IO, and information warfare (IW). 2. Air Force addition of the terms counterinformation (CI), offensive counterinformation (OCI), and defensive counterinformation (DCI). 3. The capabilities and related activities used to carry out offensive and defensive IO. |
