| Abstract | The PRODECOP (INDAP) program has supported for the last eight years the traditional dryland producers in the community of Empedrado. Significant productivity improvements have been achieved; however, most producers do not market their surpluses in the formal market. Through a qualitative study the authors were able to isolate certain variables that affect this phenomenon: a) the levels of social capital, b) interfaces deployed; c) the dichotomy between formal and substantive economy. |
