| Abstract | The workers that act in Health Family Strategy face, in their daily life, situations (precarious work conditions, difficult relationships at work, work overload, unfavorable community's social conditions) that can cause serious psychic stress, and to worsen the situation, their health doesn't receive the attention needed. We intend in this study, to identify among the workers with risk of depression and anxiety, those that developed some kind of sickness; to investigate among the workers that got sick, the prepossession factors; to evidence the defensive strategies used for mental sickness prevention and to identify the care practices used by the workers, using a qualitative approach, under the social epidemiology focus. The empiric material was produced through interview divided in two parts: the first was constituted of structured interview and the second, semi-structured. The interviews were transcribed immediately after its accomplishment, forming a database, submitted to Alceste 4.8 software. The material analysis gave origin to six thematic classes/categories, discussed with base in the adopted referential. It was evidenced that, the work constitutes a fundamental factor in the psychic suffering genesis, as well as it constitutes a pleasure source and satisfaction. Besides the work, the family conflicts and the loss of a loved one were also told as determinant for the psychic suffering. The workers evidenced the use of strategies as form of soften or avoid the mental sickness, such as, the complaint and the existence of pleased situations that reduce the suffering, meaning that the workers do not want to change the causes of suffering, but they just want a way to control it. We hope this study works as an alert to the managers about the real workers’ health situation from ESF, attempting, mainly, about the importance of the existence of a discussion space where the workers could place their difficulties and needs. It is essential the creation of places to promote health in the work places. Like this, it is possible to promote the worker's welfare, what will cause a service improvement rendered the users. |
