Abstract	A new technological revolution is underway. It is impossible to remain indifferent to the quick adherence to the new mobile device. Smartphones, MP3/MP4 players, portable videogame consoles, tablets and eBooks readers are the new electronic appliance to be taken in consideration in the market of consumption. Nowadays students carry with them all of this mobile technology paraphernalia that allows access to information anytime and anywhere, thus becoming an excellent resource to be explored in the educational context. This learning modality commonly known as Mobile Learning (m-Learning) compels teachers and students to assume a whole new mentality and attitude on the topic of these contexts. The present study of an exploratory nature intended to study the use of mobile devices by adult students, as well as their expectations in using them in higher education of distance learning. It was found that in most cases the students surveyed by the queries indicate a preference for laptops and mobile phones to access the internet and a lower usage of tablets, smartphones or iPods for the same purpose. The students that use the internet on mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets, smartphones or iPods use them essentially for checking their emails, browsing search engines or the forums within the learning platform. As for accessing these services, and once we are talking about mobile devices, they can be used anytime, anywhere unlimitedly. The inquired students refer to having high expectation on the use of mobile devices for learning purposes. On the other hand they also refer to the restraining and negative aspect of high prices in both communication and equipment.
