| Abstract | This work was performed through a following of the management of the District Department of Environment in relation to changes in the suburban landscape of the town of Ciudad Bolivar Bogota DC by mining activity. The query is initiated with the searching of secondary information, historical documents, officers, mapping, databases, and visits to the Documentation Center of the SDA; that allowed choose "Formulation and Dissemination of Mining Environmental Management Plan in the Area of Influence of the Extractive Industries and Transformers, located in the locality of Ciudad Bolivar "Diagnosis" 2000”, as starting document until the second quarter of 2014, for analysis. Also, interviewed officials of the Division of Water Resources, Department of Environment SDA, and the Division of Habitat and Environment District Comptroller. Shedding resulted in the election of the following industries: Santa Rita quarry in the sector of “Cerro Diamante” and neighborhood “el Perdomo” Cerro Colorado quarry, La Esmeralda United Quarry, Mining Industry La Quebrada. For each one was reviewed with the respective file, dividing the most important events for the control and monitoring by the SDA, those that affect the harmony of the processes of the environmentand those that hinder the exercise of authority. Subsequently, a field visit was conducted at two quarries,to compare the findings of the dossiers and other literature. Finally it was concluded that the open pit mining extraction, and anti-technical indiscriminately, this activity has been placed within the main factors of degradation and not only environmental devastation but of threat and risk to life and safety, both the citizens and the infrastructure that is in the catchment area where it takes place, within a legal framework that provides excess and lack of coordination of institutions involved in the issue and increased social problems. |
