| Abstract | The purpose is to progress on the construction of the state rural welfare as an object of historiographic interest. In this sense, a critical analysis of the Argentine rural welfare is carried out from a historical perspective, circumscribed to the first half of the twentieth century. To do so, firstly, the historiographic contributions produced on this subject are explored, as well as its analytical possibilities and some remaining gaps. Secondly, the uses of the rural in the historical understanding of social policies are discussed. Finally, it is made a summary of some advances in elucidating the historical experiences of state rural welfare in Argentina that may be useful for a budding discussion. |
