| Abstract | The use of resources available to municipalities tends to generate improvements in the quality of life of the population, and the public manager, as a local development agent, is committed to allocating them efficiently. In this context, this study aims to evaluate the efficiency of municipal expenditures on education and culture, health and sanitation, and to work in the state of Parana in 2011. In order to obtain the proposed objective, the methodology Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used, considering the model of constant returns for output. The results show that 81 municipalities analyzed, 12 were efficient in the evaluation of public resources in education and culture, health and sanitation, and work. Most of the municipalities that were efficient belong to the northern region of the state, and have the lowest per capita expenses in the period. |
