| Abstract | This paper is concerned with the pouring control of tilting-ladle-type automatic pouring systems in casting industries. A new approach to the modeling and control system of the pouring process is proposed. In the approach, the flow rate model is described by a nonlinear system with hydrodynamics. The flow rate control system is built by a feedfoward control using the inverse dynamics of the flow rate model. In this control system, control parameters are obtained from the shape of the ladle. Therefore, the present approach does not reqpuire many experiments to obtain the control parameters. In addition, this system enables application for ladle with a complex shape. The proposed method is applied to a tilting-type automatic pouring system with a cylindrical ladle, and the effectiveness of the present system is then demonstrated through experiments. |
