| Abstract | Trouble shooting is a methodology that has been addressed at different levels of mathematics teaching and learning. This paper presents results of an action carried out by the Observatory Education Program developed at the University Center UNIVATES in Lajeado/ RS. It aims to investigate the utilization of different trouble shooting strategies by students of the third grade of high school in six public schools, this program partners. The theoretical reference approaches the trouble shooting and the strategies that could be used. The results indicate that the trouble shooting methodology focusing on the use of different strategies is not well addressed in the daily student lives. Most students focused on the formal calculation or on an answer alternative indication. |
