| Abstract | Since 2003, together with some ONGs, trade unions and farmer's association, institutions responsible for thinking and proposal rural extension actions in Brazil, begun an intense process os discussion who lended into the approval, in 2004, of the National Policy on Technical Assistance and Rural Extension. Taking this politic such an analysis object, this paper tries to discuss some of the interpretative implications, and narrative paradoxes enclosed in this document and other publications with a similar orientation. Based in this material, this paper shows a discursive pattern based in a duallimited classification system, which outshine the existent plurality of points of view in the discussion about rural extension. Forthwith this paper approach the construction of the rethoric New TARE, done from the purification and detachment from this one in relation with an imagined “Old TARE”, concluding in an auto-explicative argumentation pattern. Finally, I describe the messianic character implied in the idea of the “agroecological transition”. Key-words:Agroecologie, Rural Extension, Mesianism.
