Abstract	This article aims to explore the space given to women in o outro e outros contos, made by Amazonian author Benjamin Sanches, whitch short stories was written in the 50s and 60s decades of the twentieth century. The article analyze o cuspe, a pausa and o outro, in order to understand the space given to these female characters, according to the context that they were made, and to highlight them with the reflection and the problematization of the construction of female characters in literature, according to the role of women in society.
