Abstract	EDUCATION TOWN PLAN: PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES FOR EDUCATIONAL MANAGERS OF SOUTH COQUEIROS AUTHOR: DAIANE KNAPP ADVISOR: FABIANA REGINA DA SILVA This study refers to the construction of the Final Work Specialization in Educational Management from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and has as its theme the construction of the Municipal Education Plan (SMEs) of Coqueiros do Sul, RS. The aim of this paper is to discuss the prospects and challenges of this important document for the Coqueirense community, as well, to understand how was the drafting process, based on the requirements of national and state plans of education and the deadline for compliance 10 years. However, for the analysis proposed, we also understand the need to place in the history of Brazilian education the creation of today's public and educational and decentralization of education management policies. For this study, the theoretical and methodological choices were: case study grounded in Lankshear & Knobel, literature and participant observation. Immediately, we note that the results were of great value for understanding in educational framework policies and the importance of SMEs as a document responsible for guiding the Educational Management in the way of understanding the educational processes that lead to educational qualifications at the municipal level, state and national.
