| Abstract | Diarrhea disease occurs mostly in children under five years old. Based on data over the last three years Public health center Gunungpati diarrhea cases has increased each year. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between the state of environmental sanitation and personal hygiene to mothers with the incidence of diarrhea in young children in Sub District Sumurejo Gunungpati.This research used observation research with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were infants aged 1-5 years who lived in the village with a population of 386 Sumurejo children under five. samples taken were 80 children under five across 6 RW. Fetching data collected by interviews and observations using the questionnaire as a research support tool. Analysis of the data used is chi-square. Based on the statistical test there was no association between the ownership of water supply (p value = 0.087), there was no association between the type of water supply facilities (p value = 0.116), there was no association between conditions sewer wastewater (p value = 0.224 ), there was association between the condition of the bin (p value = 0.02), no association between latrine ownership (p value = 0.566), no correlation between the type of latrine (p value = 0.207), there was association between the habit of washing hands with soap before feeding children (p value = 0.015), there was no association between the habit of washing hands with soap before cooking (p value = 0.305), there was no association between the habit of washing their hands after Toilet (p value = 0.364), no association the habit of boiling milk bottle with hot water before use (p value = 0.364) and the incidence of diarrhea in young children under five at Sub District Sumurejo Gunungpati. From this study it can be concluded that there was association between the condition of the trash and hand washing practive before feeding children with diarrhea incident in children under five at Sub Sumurejo Gunungpati District of Semarang. |
