Abstract	Background : Gynura procumbens (Lour) Merr, known as traditional herbal medicine. Gynura procumbens’s tuber consists of chemicals that are able to increase lymphocytes proliferation. Purpose : To prove the effect of Gynura procumbens (Lour) Merr’s. tuber in lymphocytes proliferation of Balb/C Mice Infected by Salmonella typhimurium Method : An experimental study with the post-test only control group design was carried out on experiment animal Balb/C mice, consisted of 20 male mice which devided into 4 groups. K was control group which only infected by S. typhimurium without treatment, and experiment groups (P1,P2,P3) were treated with Gynura procumbens (Lour) Merr’s root extract with gradual doses (0,1mg; 0,2mg; 0,4mg) for 14 days which infected by 103 Salmonella typhimurium on the 9th day. On 15th day the spleen of Balb/c mice were isolated and lymphocytes proliferation were counted. We gained the data from the calculation of lymphoblast amount in every 200 cells of homogen lymphocyte area Results : There were significant differences in lymphoblast count between K-P1, K-P2 and K-P3 (p 0,05) Conclusion: There was significant increase of lymphocyte proliferation between the control and the experiment group that was treated by Gynura procumben’s tuber extract. Otherwise, there was no significant increase of lymphocyte proliferation among the experiment group that was treated by Gynura procumben’s tuber extract with gradual doses (0,1mg; 0,2mg; 0,4mg).
