Abstract	Biphasic Insulin Aspart 70 (BIAsp 70, NovoMix® 70) in Intensified Conventional Therapy in Patients with Type-2-Diabetes: an Austrian Observational Study. Insulin treatment in patients with type-2-diabetes mellitus is often initiated with once (OD) or twice daily (BID) injections of premixed insulin or long-acting basal insulin. When glucose control fails to meet recommended targets, treatment should be intensified using basal/bolus or premixed insulin therapy. The development of modern premixed insulin analogue formulations, notably biphasic insulinaspart 70 (BIAsp 70) (70 % soluble insulinaspart/30 % protaminated insulinaspart) offers the opportunity to closely mimic physiological insulin secretion with the benefit of a simple regimen for patients. Haufig wird eine Insulintherapie mit einoder zweimal taglicher Gabe eines Mischinsulins oder eines einmal taglichen Basis-Insulins begonnen. Sobald damit aber keine optimale diabetische Einstellung mehr erzielt werden kann, sollte diese Behandlung entweder mit einer Intensivierung der Mischinsulin-Therapie oder einer Basis-Bolus-Therapie weitergefuhrt werden. Da eine Basis-Bolus-Therapie sehr aufwendig und auserdem nicht von allen Patienten durchfuhrbar ist, bietet die intensivierte konventionelle Insulin-Therapie mit einem modernen Mischinsulin die Moglichkeit, eine annahernd physiologische Blutzuckerkontrolle zu erzielen [2]: ● Kein Bedarf fur Zwischenmahlzeiten – hohere Flexibilitat, bessere Gewichtskontrolle moglich ● Verabreichung mit NovoPen 4 ● Kostengunstige und effiziente Insulintherapie
