| Abstract | Chattering is a defect that arises due to the relative motion of the work piece and the machining tools. Quality systems require online devices to detect this defect in the manufacture of industrial products as control points to avoid production loses. In this paper, a detection method of chatter marks for cylindrical grinding by means of the wavelet transform is presented. The results obtained with an experimental set-up for chattering identification are shown, as well as the information obtained through the processing steps. It was found that the method detects adequately chattering on the work piece, estimates its magnitude, and provides information of the perimetral distribution, showing the benefits of the technique. |
