| Abstract | . Fish communitia of a bay located in the maritime sector of a tropical br&&sh-water lagoon are analysed in order to,sptCify the cíT& of seasons andaf !he climate on thé qlogical functioning of I t is shown that, on an annual cycle as well as on a larger timescale (1962-1981). there is a group composed of about twenty species with high ecop~ysiological capacities which form a remarkably stable permanent fund for the fish community in an extremely changing environment (high variability at several spatio-temporal Ievels). Beyond the persistence of this group of species, an increak 'in: h e marine component in the community is noted and interpreted as a cqnSequtnce of the,general.,rainf@l deficit'in the ngion during the period of the study. The level of structural organization of !& . i c h t y o l b ~ . ~ l ~ m . ~ n i t y :¡+-never very high in this area of the Ebrié Lagoon when seasonal Chang& in the composition and the'styctu7ç: Qr fish communities are much pronounced. These van'ations are indu 'd by environmental chhges: mainly, the abundance and distribution of freshwater inputs.-,?he importance of the mode and lypc of thcsc inputs is this system that is under both continental and oceanic influena.
