Abstract	Currently, there is consensus affirming that scholars on education, in particular, students of Applied Linguistics, come bothering to analyze clearly the subjective aspects of the subject in relation to the teaching learning process, since these studies have focused in understanding how the profiles of professionals influence the construction of knowledge. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the professional profile of the subjects of Mother Tongue teachers who teach in state schools in the city of New Alagoa, located in the swamp of Paraiba. To this end, semistructured interviews with six (6) teachers were performed: (three) arising from State Elementary School and Middle Monsignor José Borges de Carvalho and the other arising from the State School for Primary Education Teacher Cardoso, and such schools located in the City of New-Pb Alagoa. In order to analyze how informative profiles of these subjects were constructed from the account of his experiences in continuing education courses (experiences as students) as well as some considerations about the professional role and its relationship with the educational model employee in the Brazilian public education system. Such interviews were drawn up basing on the analysis of discourse, so we support the authors on how Coracini (2003), Mussalim (2002) and Brandão (2004), which focus on such theoretical framework, as well as authors who lecture about the processes of identity construction, like Hall (2005) and Bauman (2005).
