| Abstract | The article reflects on the current state of information for world development through the experiences of the news sections ‘Planeta Futuro’ from El Pais ) and ‘Desalambre’ from eldiario.es . Sections that they are born in a context of cut in the Spanish help to the international cooperation to the development without precedents. This specialized type of reporting, new in Spain, has evolved alongside the movements linked to solidarity, international cooperation and the fight against poverty. The case studies, through means of semi-structured interviews, demonstrate the following: the importance and weight of specialized journalism adapted to new discursive, technological changes, and of public interest in topics such as refugees, climate change and governance etc. and that signify current global challenges which will ensure the development of this type of journalism. |
