| Abstract | This work concerns the modeling and optimization of the acoustic radiation’s reduction of thin structures in the low frequency domain using shunted piezoelectric elements. Reduced-order finite element models are developed for the structure (plates with piezoelectric patchs) in order to take into account the electromechanical coupling. These discrete models are then used to determine the acoustic power radiated by the plate, to identify vibration modes to be controlled and to optimize the piezoelectric elements and the electrical circuits to which they are connected.
