| Abstract | Abstract: I n the earl y design p rocess, t he co nventional m ethod f or deriving diverse desi gn solutions depends on the designer’s experience and knowledge. Therefore, an engineering design method, which can derive diverse design solutions, is necessary for designers. Herein to aid in the early desi gn process, a n em ergent de sign system, whi ch deri ves diverse desi gn solutions, i s proposed. This system was a pplied to a car body frame, which has various design conditions, to derive different desi gn solutions. M oreover, t o i mprove s trength a nd t o m ake l ightweight, we proposed an algorithm th at enab les form s, in cluding fi brous forms with different m aterial properties and ex isting form ele ments, to be g enerated. C onsequently, th is syst em h elps designers derive novel solutions for design objectives in the early design process. |
