| Abstract | The objective of this article is to evaluate the effects of the loading frequency on the behaviour of polycrystalline copper and more precisely on the precursors of fatigue damage. The first part is devoted to the characterization of the material and notably its sensitivity to the strain rate is studied. The second part presents the Wöhler curves (or S-N curves) built at 20 Hz and 20 kHz. In the last part, the results of SEM observations are presented for the different frequencies and a criterion to predict the apparition of slip bands is proposed.
