| Abstract | This research is based on the studies of social perception of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, which never includes among the participants the population of Melilla. These studies are of paramount importance as they are the way by which countries measure the relationship between science and society, manifested through interest in science, the vision of the scientific profession, the level of scientific literacy or the support to public policies of science and technology, which are necessary for the social and economic development of any country. This study has as a general objective to measure the social perception of science and technology in the university students of the Campus of the UGR in Melilla and to check if there are cultural, gender or studies differences, with the participation of 400 students both undergraduate and graduate. After analyzing the results it is observed that the level of interest in science and technology is good, as it is the social image of science, improving even on the elements of results at the national level. It has also been shown that the scientific profession has a reputation, although there are some problems in the era of scientific literacy of students and in the media used. The differences in the tasks of religion, gender and university students' studies are also highlighted. |
