Abstract	This is a report of experience developed in the city of Tigrinhos with children of the Bolsa Familia and the Information System for Food and Nutritional surveillance aimed to diagnose the nutritional status of children and assistance needed to reduce the shortages and its complications. To achieve the objectives was used as a methodology to evaluate the data of the Bolsa Familia and SISVAR and after data collection were performed individual assessments, collective approaches and use of nutritional supplements when necessary with the children participating in the programs. In effect the actions could be perceived that the cultural issues that pervade the family directly influence eating habits. Since the approach in school, family, health professionals have contributed directly to the recovery of nutritional status.
