Abstract	The policy for the reader’s formation in Brazil accounts, among others, the distribution of textbooks in mother tongue for public schools across the country. Such materials have reading methodological approaches ineffective for the reader’s formation in its early stages, as shown by study carried out between 2013 and 2015 with the first two volumes of ten didactic collections of Portuguese.
