Abstract	Although the European Union and United States have been strategic donors in the region for decades and especially during the Cold War, today their geopolitical interests have changed and Latin America is no longer a key area of influence. Under these circumstances, China is filling the existing vacuum, becoming a key partner for the Latin American Development. This article will analyze the new alternative structures that are being created in the field of development cooperation, which involves horizontal partnerships and triangular cooperation forms, where China is playing an important role in a new geopolitical configuration of development.
