| Abstract | The aim of this paper is to show the way in which the Siete Partidas builds the images of the king and the emperor. The starting point to understand the different treatment of these images is the disociation produced by Alphonse’s legal discourse upon both institutions (Monarchy and Empire) within the context of the Fecho del Imperio . Thus, our proposal is to study the ways in which Alphonse, the Wise king, builds the arguments of the laws that pretend to regulate these institutions. Moreover, we will study the reception of this treatment in the 16th century gloss of Gregorio Lopez. |
