| Abstract | The research tries to find out if the premise that "young people do not have a habit and like to read and write" is true and, above all, to analyze the relationship of students with reading and writing inside and outside school. We used the quantitative and qualitative approach, through the application of a questionnaire; this was done with 3rd year of Public High School, from Carangola / MG. We observed that, in Portuguese classes, two classes have a good relation and one does not, as well as different opinions about the experience outside the school sector, however, most students do not have a habit of reading and writing, which makes it an issue worrisome. The present work is based on the conceptions dealt with, mainly, by Koch and Elias (2006), Marcuschi (2001, 2008) and Rojo (2010). |
