| Abstract | Red dragon fruit flesh has high antosianin content so it can be used as an antioxidant substance. This study aims to determine the free radical scavenging activity in red dragon fruit extract and lip gloss preparations, and test the physical properties of lip gloss extract red dragon fruit meat. IC50 from red dragon meat extract obtained for 4.8076 ppm. Variations of extract concentration in lip gloss formulations were 0, 4, 6, and 8%. Examination of physical properties of lip gloss preparation includes organoleptic test, pH test of dosage, homogeneity test, viscosity test, phase separation, and temperature stability test. The preparation of lip gloss extract of red dragon fruit flesh has good organoleptis, suitable pH, eligible viscosity, stable at room temperature but unstable at hot temperature (40 oC) and cold temperature (4 oC). The IC50 values of the preparations of lip gloss formula 1 (4%), formula 2 (6%), and formula 3 (8%) respectively 7,4828 ppm; 5,9803 ppm; and 4,4813 ppm. The extracts and preparations of lip gloss under study have strong free radical capture activity. The optimal concentration of free radical scavenging activity on the preparation of lip gloss is 8%. |
