| Abstract | The current work describes a process of musical initiation with six to twelve-yearold boys who belong to the Enrique Millán Rubio institution, Gaitan la Playa branch from the municipality of Dosquebradas. This work has four phases since its beginning to its end: The first phase is the musical initiation process. Here, a poll diagnosis was made, aiming to know what kinds of musical experiences the children had had. Also, through activities and games, it aimed to know the background knowledge of the children. The second phase consists on the creation of the didactic unit. It was made based on a sketch that contained the desired achievements with the kids and the methodology through which the achievements would be obtained. The third phase is the didactic unit application. It is compound by three achievements; the first one to obtain was the rhythm. It consisted on having the kids achieve the ability of identifying the tense in a song and follow it without difficulties. The second achievement is the intonation. In this phase, the idea was to have kids with the aptitude of singing a song in the most correct manner, giving each sound the corresponding hight. The third achievement is the grammar. It consisted on showing students the pentagram, the sun and fa keys, and the musical figures. In regards to the conclusions, it was an enriching process for the creators since, for the first time, they had the opportunity to work with a bigger group of kids, obtaining experience. The satisfaction of the whole community, including kids and teachers, was excellent and an incentive to continue on this type of learning. The difficulties found were the time and the resources to offer the kids new practical methods. |
