| Abstract | The more advanced a country, the more educated people need employment according to their competence. However, employment seems inadequate so that many educated people are unemployed; therefore, entrepreneurship becomes very important. These phenomena were in accordance with the phenomena found by the researcher in her observation on the students of Business Administration Study Program, University of Sumatera Utara, in the academic year of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. Most of the students do not use the opportunity to be entrepreneurs. The objective of the research was to find out and to analyze the influence of self-efficacy, family environment, and social media on the interest in becoming entrepreneurs in the students of Business Administration Study Program, University of Sumatera Utara. The research used descriptive quantitative and descriptive explanatory method. The population was 276 students of Business Administration Study Program, in the academic year of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, and 163 of them were used as the samples, taken by using accidental sampling technique. The data were gathered by using questionnaires and analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the research showed that 1)self-efficacy, family environment and social media simultaneously had positive and significant influence on the interest in becoming entrepreneurs, and 2)partially, social media had the most dominant influence on the interest in becoming entrepreneurs. |
