Abstract	In this work the production potential of fruit for two (2) blocks palm species Maurita Flexuosa, located in the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, while possible forms of economic exploitation of these fruits in plants are exposed is evaluated which they have been developed in the wild, due to favorable conditions in this region. At work the literature related to reproduction and use made of this species in other regions of Latin America, as a reference for the evaluation of the resulting primary information fieldwork is discussed. The study took into account all the plants present in both blocks sampling, which gives high driveability on the results achieved in the current characterization and reflection on its economic potential. The two blocks studied of these wild plants have very different levels of productivity, as a result of the different zonal and structural characteristics of each place. It is considering the usefulness of these non-timber products based on the current market value that can turn fed those crops pigs, and according to his own conversion factor and the price of meat on the hoof, is estimated at about COP $ 3'588.527 additionally compared with income from activities such as ranching and cultivation of African palm. Getting a favorable balance regarding the use of fruit in the feeding of pets, specifically pigs (Sus scrofa domesticus) potential economic performance can be improved to the extent that ultivation techniques and care are applied to the management of current populations. Additionally it is suggested that other products can be obtained options to diversify use.
