| Abstract | The aim of this article was to analyse the expositive teaching approach of professors in six Accounting courses in Sao Paulo area. Six professors were interviewed in two different groups. This research was descriptive and qualitative. The main adopted approaches were: the interaction with students in the beginning of the course, together with the professors´ professional experience, to understand the students´ profile, the use of the blackboard and the data show projector. The professors´ actions to verify if students absorb the content and if they overcome the difficulties were practical activities and private questions sessions, which, according to the subjects, rarely occur. The professors´ institutional evaluation made by students was a tool available for five subjects to improve their practices. In 54,0% of the investigated items, the professors´ answers are in accordance with the literature, indicating that the ways suggested to reach the objectives of the expositive approach are being considered. |
