| Abstract | The quality in any operation is desirable for optimizing the utilization of resources and time available, and there within the operation of mechanical harvesting the need to reduce rates of losses while keeping down the damage to plants. Therefore this study aims to evaluate the quality of the operation of mechanical harvesting of coffee, according to the two sides of the harvester and two frequencies of vibration of rods, under the statistical control process(SCP). We evaluated the volume of harvested coffee, the rates of losses and dropped the remaining coffee in the plant, and caused defoliation of plants. The results showed that the rates of harvest there was no difference between the two sides of the machine, but from the viewpoint of statistical control, the conduct of those changes as a function of vibration frequencies. The increase in the frequency of vibration of the rods reduced the remaining volume of coffee, but did not increase the volume collected and increased damage to plants and do not justify its application. And for the statistical control process, the increase in the frequency of vibration made the loss rates more stable by reducing variability, but the opposite happened with the coffee harvested and the indices of plant damage. |
