| Abstract | The study aims to expose social media as tools at the service of capital to attain positioning through multiplication and expansion of its hegemonic rhetoric. This goal, in addition, is in and of itself revolutionary from a theoretical perspective. Social media, of course, involve interaction between authors and participants in a dynamics little addressed so far. Content analysis, combined with the criteria of experts and technicians and that of focused groups help map communication over the Internet, so far restricted to explaining how social media operated and the behavior of information consumption. However, on that basis the phenomenon is studied in depth to conclude that these are channels through which the main and secondary discourse vie in a world seeking to replace physical reality. |
