| Abstract | The current investigation concerns to the design of an Virtual Learning Object (VLO) to boost the reading comprehension skills in the students of the group 1001, in the San Isidro Sur Oriental school, afternoon working day. The situation problem which motivated the research work were low results in the students’ Comprehension Reading Tests who belonging to this academic cycle, as well as observations from one of the co-investigators’ teaching experience. The approach selected in this exploration is of a qualitative nature, delimited within the descriptive investigation. Later, an experimental test was made to put the VLO in an educational context, from which observations were registered in a field diary and some interviews were established to let the analysis of information and consequent obtaining of discoveries and conclusions. One of the most important discoveries is appropriate for this kind of Virtual Learning Object is not a simple resource to offset academic or educational processes; on the contrary, it addresses of an effort to pedagogical and educational level to think, design and make use of a material which is not only consequent with the reality and students’ immediate contexts, but also, using the technology and computer science, as well as a disciplinary knowledge, it indicates to the qualification in reading comprehension skills, as complement, support and mediator of this important assignment for the school and the education. |
