| Abstract | The Newton-Raphson method is one of the most widely accepted procedures for computing open channel super critical surface and computing non linier equation. This method can computing tile water and spillway of the dam, and can computing with conventional computer madels. An algorithm has been developed that executes the Newton-Raphson method in super ciritical for open channels. This algorithm presented in Newton-Raphson form, is suitable for subcritical, critical,and super critical, and horizontal flow regimes. Transition channel sections having linierly variable bottom widths are easy accomandated. Numerical solution of this method, without using loop up tables and interpolation procedure, results in fast execution times. A steady flow computer program that uses the algorithm has been depeloped to perform some table checking of hydraulic profile logic and to facilitate simple data entry.
