| Abstract | Formalet med studien var a undersoke sammenhengen mellom tidlig seksuell debut og psykiske vansker blant ungdom, malt ved Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. Studien inkluderer skoleelever i alderen 15-20 ar (n=9356). The aim of the study was to examine the association between early sexual debut and psychological distress among youth, using Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. This study includes students 15-20 years (n=9356). Sexual debut was divided into three groups: ≤14 years, 15 years and ≥16 years, and compared to those students who have not yet had a debut. An association between early sexual debut and high risk of conduct problems and hyperactivity was found. The risk of conduct problems was four times higher among boys and three times higher among girls who had their debut ≤14 years, compared to those who have not yet had a debut. Results suggest that early sexual debut falls into a pattern of antisocial behavior, and preventive interventions should therefore in particular be directed towards these young people. |
