Abstract	Se aborda en este articulo una aproximacion al estudio de la vulnerabilidad de la poblacion ante las manifestaciones del Volcan de Fuego de Colima (Estado de Jalisco, Mexico), desde un punto de vista geografico. Para su desarrollo se plantea el uso de dos escalas: en primer lugar se estudia el entorno del Volcan, haciendo uso de Tecnologias de la Informacion Geografica (T.I.G.) para el analisis de sus coberturas del suelo; en segundo lugar, se toma como area piloto el nucleo de Juan Barragan, en las inmediaciones del Volcan, y se analizan las motivaciones de la poblacion, sus disponibilidades y medios de evacuacion, asi como su actitud ante una hipotetica manifestacion volcanica. An approach to the study of vulnerability in volcanic manifestations of Volcan de Fuego de Colima (State of Jalisco, Mexico), from a geographic point of view, is the aim of this paper. Two scales are used to broach the problem: first and foremost was necessary to analyse the land-cover arround the Volcan de Fuego de Colima, using Geographic Information Technologies (G.I.T.); at the same time, the village of Juan Barragan, neighbouring the volcano, was consider like a pilot area, and so, its population was analized with the purpose of understand their reasons of stay at the area, and their possibilities and chances faced with a hypothetic volcanic manifestation.
