| Abstract | We present some ideas about the problems of the blind people have in order to access information. By using an appropriate version of the hypertext model, we develop a system which tries to solve these drawbacks. In this system all the information is conveyed by using 3D sound. By means of several metaphors, the overall complexity of the system is reduced. A building is the main metaphor. The idea is to perform a sound simulation from the inside of the building using 3D sound, where a mapping between the building and a hypertext is done. In this framework each object has a particular meaning and a proper sound; in that way, the user can recognize and interact with these entities. We explain the characteristics and functionality of the proposed model, and the future work. |
