| Abstract | Inula viscosa (L.) Aiton, a member of the Asteraceae family, is a widespread, evergreen and n aturally grown plant in the Mediterranean basin. Medically, it has been used as medicine because of its calmative, ant ipyretic, inflammation reductive and antiseptic properties si nce the ancient times. Due to its long inflorescence period and its potent odour, the plant attracts pollinators and protects itself from natural enemies. There have also been some stu dies about potential use of Inula viscosa regarding the area of plant protection. Detailed studies about the use of this plant as an alternative against harmful organisms may pre sent significant contribution to integrated pest management in plant production in the Mediterranean basin. |
