| Abstract | Charge transfer (CT) complexes formed between 2-amino-4-methoxy -6-methyl pyrimidine (AMMP), 2-amino-4-chloro-6-methyl pyrimidine (ACMP), 2-amino-4,6-dimethyl pyrimidine (ADMP) and N 6 benzyl adenine (BA) as a donors and chloranilic acid (CHA) as acceptor have been studied spectrophotometrically and conductimetrically. Minimum-maximum absorbance method have been used to estimate the formation constants. Job's continuous variation method, spectrophotometric and conductimetric studies were used to detect the stoichiometry of the formed complexes. The association constants (KCT), molar extinction coefficient (e), oscillator strength (f), dipole moment and the charge transfer energy of the formed complexes were estimated. The solid CT complexes have been synthesized and characterized by FTIR and 1 HNMR spectroscopy where the formed complexes included hydrogen bonds. |
