| Abstract | The pear is a fruit belonging to the family Rosaceae and the genus Pyrus. In Brazil, the production of pears is approximately 16.000 tonnes per year, which represents less than 10% of the total fruit consumed in the country, the low production is due to lack of cultivars adapted to climatic conditions. This study aimed to identify and evaluate genetic diversity among accessions of pear (Pyrus communis L.) in six cities of Southern Minas Gerais (Carrancas, Itumirim, Lavras, Nepomuceno, Perdões and Ribeirão Vermelho). Genetic characterization was performed in 147 accessions of seven populations, based on 21 SSR primers, the cluster analysis of genotypes were performed by using UPGMA (Unweighted Pair-Group Method with Arithmetic Averages) based on Jaccard. The genetic similarity between populations was calculated by Nei's identity index. In all primers were observed polymorphic bands corresponded to approximately 93% of the observed bands, on average, each initiator fragments produced 8.4. The dissimilarity coefficient for all genotypes ranged from 0.032 to 0.69. Populations 2 and 7, respectively in the regions of Perdões and Lavras UFLA showed the greatest genetic distance compared to the others and were grouped separately with similarity of 0.83. However, population 2 and 4, respectively Perdões and Ribeirão Vermelho, showed the greatest genetic similarity, about 0.94. It was found that population 7, collected in Lavras UFLA, showed the highest number of polymorphic bands, thus obtaining the highest percentage of polymorphism (86.24%) and consequently greater genetic diversity. Already populations 2 and 5, from Perdões and Lavras CG, showed the lowest number of fragments in heterozygous and consequently the lowest genetic diversity. It was observed that there is variability among the accessions studied pear. |
