| Abstract | Soil compaction is a dynamic soil behavior by which the state or compacteness of soil is increased. Forces that cause com- paction originate from two main sources; force s applied to soil by machines and anl- mals and natural forces such as dry forma- tion process (geochemical reactions). In crop production, soil compacticn effects the qua- lity of plants and their products. Compaction reduces the permeability of soil to water, consequently runoff and erosion may occur and sen's water storage will be limited. Como pactation reduces aeration of the soil and in- crease the mechanical strength of the soil, so rrot growth is impeded. Soil's water and fertilizer applied shows very low efficiency. Use of tillage and traction machines requires bigger and more powerful increasign costs of production. Therefore, the goal of the rase- arch leading to solve the problem of compae- tation must try to applied more efficient and less expensive methods and techniques such as the use of explosives. Field experience of the authors shows the applicability of the proposed techique. |
