| Abstract | This work has the first results obtained within the framework of study on the combined ecotoxicological effects of mixtures of heavy metals frequently found in Urban Runoff. The potential toxicity of three binary mixtures (Cd/Cu, Zn/Cu and Cd/Zn) tested in the form of nitrates and with various ratios, was evaluated by means of the acute toxicity test on Daphnia magna. The results obtained emphasize a light synergistic effect for the mixtures Cd/Cu and Zn/Cu, while for the Cd/Zn mixture the interactions are shared between a light synergy when the Zn nitrate is minority in the mixture and a light antagonism of the effects since the Zn nitrate concentration tends to being in a majority. |
