| Abstract | This research is based on the analysis and characterization of INDURA electrodes used for coating and recovery of parts, deposited as hardfacing (Hardfacing) on a steel substrate AISI / SAE 1020 by SMAW process (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), with In order to determine the influence of electrode type and the number of weld passes on the abrasive wear resistance. The variables considered in this study were: type of electrode (Overlay 60®, 62® and Oversugar® Overlay) and number of weld passes (1 and 2). The abrasion test according to method B of ASTM G-65, and conventional microhardness testing used standard microscopy. Mass loss of the specimens coated with this coefficient of wear, which was related to the chemical composition of each of the electrodes and the number of weld passes was found was determined. It was determined that the Overlay 62® coating applied by two passes generated the highest performance against abrasive wear because they had the lowest mass loss and lower wear coefficient. |
